Position Title:  Security Engineer

Position Description: Create, edit, review and evaluate System Security Plans, System Security Authorization Agreements, systems and network diagrams, Security Requirements Traceability Matrices, Risk Assessments, and associated Information Systems Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documents in accordance with Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community,  National and Agency standards. Observe, evaluate, and document IS security certification testing and prepare Security Certification Test Reports (SCTRs) with findings and recommendations regarding systems' certifications. Inspect systems, networks, sites for compliance to InfoSec standards and policies.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Assurance, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Ten years experience in Information Technology and a minimum of six months specialized experience as a system administrator, network administrator, ISSO, or ISSR for Windows and Unix/Linix variants (Solaris, RedHat, etc.)
  • Information Assurance Certification (e.g, A+, Network+, Security+, CISSP, ISSEP, SSCP, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, or similar ) and a relevant operating systems certification (e.g., MCP, MCSE, RHCT, RHCE, SCSA, SCNA, SCSECA, or similar) may be substituted for education.
  • Working knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework and other applicable information systems certification and accreditation policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret the results and implications of SRRs, checklists and scripts on Unclassified, Sensitive and Classified systems.
